From the roasters:

Nestled in the fertile mountains of Tolima’s Central Cordillera, Planadas is home to the El Jordan group of coffee producers. Since 2003, Caravela has supported these passionate, family-run farms, where collaboration and tradition thrive. On these rich slopes, they grow a variety of coffees including Castillo, Colombia, Caturra, Typica, Bourbon, Pink Bourbon, and Gesha.

Over the years, El Jordan producers have improved their farming practices, infrastructure, and coffee quality. They’ve also embraced environmentally friendly agriculture by planting native trees, treating wastewater, and working toward greater sustainability - with many now holding organic certifications. Despite the challenges of climate change, their commitment to quality remains strong.

We’ve roasted coffees from El Jordan before, but making them a permanent part of our Teamwork Espresso is a milestone we’re proud to celebrate. Their dedication to quality and sustainability perfectly reflects the values behind this project.

Today, nearly half of coffee production comes from countries predicted to lose more than 60% of land suitable for growing coffee by 2050. As temperatures rise and extreme weather becomes more frequent, coffee farming is becoming increasingly difficult and less profitable for many producers across the globe. World Coffee Research is a non-profit organisation providing farmers with the tools, knowledge, and plants necessary to adapt in a changing climate. Together with our importing partners Caravela, we are donating €0.50 from every Kg of TEAMWORK Seasonal Espresso to support their work.
