Earlier this year, we traveled to Guatemala to visit some of the producers we buy from for our Teamwork Espresso. During this trip, we were introduced to the coffees from Nelsy Villatoro, which were some of the best we tasted during our time there.
Nelsy’s farm is located in the high altitudes of San Antonio Huista, an area we were unfortunately advised against traveling to. While we did not visit the farm, we cupped her coffees several times throughout the trip and were consistently impressed by their intensely fruity, clean, and vibrant profile.
This is hopefully the first of many coffees we will roast from Nelsy, and we look forward to meeting her in person on our next trip to Guatemala. This coffee has been roasted for filter brewing, and you can expect a sweet and winey cup with notes of grape, chocolate and stone fruit.
